Originally based in Wellington, Florian now supports Trade Assist’s growth in Hawke’s Bay as our Health and Safety Officer across the region. With experience across warehousing, manufacturing, and engineering environments, he understands what “safe, compliant, and practical” looks like on the ground.

Florian is genuinely passionate about health and safety because he’s seen how quickly a normal day can turn into a serious incident. For him, it’s not about paperwork or compliance for its own sake. It’s about people understanding the risks, having the right controls in place, and being supported to do the job safely.

He places a strong emphasis on inductions, because that is where expectations are set. He wants every worker to start with a clear understanding of site requirements, key hazards, safe work methods, and what good practice looks like. He maintains a strong onsite presence to support teams, reinforce standards, and identify issues early.

Florian works closely with site leaders and the Trade Assist team to follow up on near misses properly, ensure actions are closed out, and lift safety performance in a way that is practical and consistent. He is firm but fair, and focused on building a culture where people speak up early and issues are dealt with before someone gets hurt.
