Sam is a Recruitment Consultant at Trade Assist, specialising in the warehousing, logistics and manufacturing sectors. With over 10 years of experience in the industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for people to his role. Starting out as a Resourcer, Sam steadily worked his way up through consultancy and business development roles, building a strong foundation across both white-collar and blue-collar recruitment while specialising in temporary, contract and permanent placements.

Originally from Auckland, Sam now calls Christchurch home. What’s kept him in recruitment all these years is simple – people. For Sam, helping businesses with staffing solutions and supporting individuals to secure work is all about building stronger communities.

Having grown up in a blue-collar household, Sam understands the importance of hard work and opportunity. That lived experience, combined with his ability to connect, listen and build genuine relationships, makes him a natural in this space. Over the years, he’s been involved with various community groups, youth programmes and employment workshops, helping others navigate through their career journeys.

Sam is naturally empathetic, calm under pressure and goal-driven, starting fresh in a new city doesn’t intimidate him, but rather is motivated by the notion of adventure.
