Celebrating Milestones at Trade Assist (Part 1) - Olivia Booker's 4th Work Anniversary

At Trade Assist, our people are at the heart of everything we do and we’re proud to celebrate the milestones that mark their journeys with us. In this three-part blog series, we’re shining a light on some of the awesome team members who’ve grown with us and are excelling in their roles at different stages of their careers. We’ve asked them to reflect on their time with Trade Assist so far, share their proudest moments and give us a glimpse into what the future looks like for them.

We’re kicking off the "Celebrating Milestones with Trade Assist" series with Olivia Booker, one of our Accounts Administrators based at Head Office, who’s just hit four years with the team.

How has your role or journey at Trade Assist evolved over the years?

I started out as an Administrator/Receptionist at the Christchurch branch and now I’m part of the Finance team at Head Office, working as an Accounts Administrator. I look after accounts payable and payroll and over the years, I’ve become more independent in my role, taking on more significant accounts and responsibilities.

What’s been your standout moment or proudest achievement so far?

One that really sticks with me is when I received a box of chocolates from a candidate’s family as a thank-you for helping them with some tricky pay-related questions. Since candidates usually deal more with consultants and resourcers, it was a lovely surprise. It reminded me that even the behind-the-scenes work we do can make a real difference to someone’s day.

Another proud moment was when Trade Assist introduced the "Caught Crushing It" system, where an internal team member is recognised each week for going above and beyond. I was the first-ever recipient and that meant a lot to me!

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead at Trade Assist?

For me, the best part of Trade Assist is the people and culture. I genuinely love working with such a talented and caring team and nothing would make me happier than continuing to be part of it. To me, the people you work with are just as important, if not more than the tasks themselves. I’m excited to keep growing with the team and seeing where the next year takes us!
